Description from the seller

Beautiful Napoléon III era pair of candlesticks from around 1860 in gilded régule and black marble.

The model is very decorative with an elegant pierced mount featuring vegetal scrolls and several asymmetrical light arms in a Rocaille spirit still influenced by the Louis XV style, highly appreciated under the Second Empire.

The bases are black marble with small bronze feet, providing a nice contrast and giving presence to the whole piece.

Even though the gilding appears somewhat worn in places, the pair remains very aesthetic and decorative.

Some areas damaged on the candlesticks.
