Description from the seller

Among the Suku and Yaka peoples, these slit gongs are emblems of the diviners and healers called nganga ngoombu. They provide the rhythm to many of their chants and signal their presence.
The small slit gongs can also serve as containers for mixing and serving medicines, and, when laid horizontally, they are said to have been used as a diviner's stool.
