Mesolithic bone/deer antler harpoon point (12 cm) – Doggerland / Maasvlakte

Beautifully preserved, large prehistoric bone harpoon point (barbed harpoon point) from the Mesolithic (c. 9000 – 6000 BCE).
This centerpiece originates from the submerged landscape of Doggerland and was found on Maasvlakte. The object features an authentic old collection inscription ("ex A.W.").

Specifications & Features:
Dating: Mesolithic / Middle Stone Age (c. 11,000 to 8,000 years old).
Material: Mineralized bone or antler (deep brown North Sea patina).
Length: 12 cm (a unusually large and hefty size).
Condition: Excellent. The distinctive barbs on the sides are sharp, deep, and undamaged. The tip tapers beautifully.
Provenance: Found on Maasvlakte, Netherlands. (North Sea material from Doggerland).

Prachtig bewaard gebleven, grote prehistorische benen harpoenspits (weerhaakspits) uit het Mesolithicum (ca. 9000 – 6000 v. Chr.). 
Dit topstuk is afkomstig uit het verdronken landschap Doggerland en gevonden op de Maasvlakte. Het object is voorzien van een authentieke oude collectie-inscriptie ("ex A.W.")  

Specificaties & Kenmerken:
Datering: Mesolithicum / Midden-Steentijd (ca. 11.000 tot 8.000 jaar oud).
Materiaal: Gemineraliseerd been of gewei (diepbruine Noordzee-patina).
Lengte: 12 cm (een zeldzaam groot en fors formaat).
Conditie: Uitstekend. De karakteristieke weerhaken aan de zijkant zijn scherp, diep en onbeschadigd gebleven. De spits loopt prachtig taps toe.
Herkomst: Gevonden op de Maasvlakte Nederland. (Noordzee-materiaal uit Doggerland).
