Beautiful antique Dutch secretaire desk.
Behind the flap/front there are several compartments and drawers. With a small cellar.
Dutch secretary bureau. This elegantly curved secretaire desk has three roomy drawers in the lower section. The writing slide opens to a beautiful interior with seven small drawers, and a few secret compartments. The central small door is flanked by small pilasters with copper capitals; they can be pulled out and used as secret compartments for letters. The desk stands out for its attention to detail and the very fine, well-defined wood. The brass fittings are original. Part of the writing surface is covered with green cloth.
Standing on two deeply detailed lion-paw feet.
In short, a masterpiece! Restored to excellent condition for its age.
