Description from the seller
~Megalodon tooth from the Mioceane – North Carolina, USA
This impressive Megalodon tooth originates from the United States, where fossils like this are found directly on the seabed. This provides a beautifully robust appearance and an authentic, “lived-in” look — pure nature.
This unique tooth has a completely different color on each side, which is related to the type of mineral that the tooth was set in and indicates that the tooth has partly resided somewhere, giving this tooth a very unique appearance! You hardly ever see this!
Compared to fossils from other sites, such as Indonesia, USA teeth are known for their solid, strong roots and high degree of originality. Indonesian teeth can sometimes show sharper serrations and a smoother enamel due to the type of sediment in which they are found, but are also more often restored or even partially reconstructed. In the USA, restoration is much less common, so most finds — like this specimen — have remained fully authentic.
This tooth is 100% original and not restored, with a powerful root and beautiful natural details. A special and honest piece for the serious collector who values authenticity.
