The clock has a wooden case, with oak details, brass accents, and a brass handle on top.
On 15 April 1861, Erhard Junghans, together with his brother-in-law Jakob Zeller Tobler, established the company Junghans&Tobler in Schramberg.
They began producing clock components in a very efficient manner.
From 1866 onward, clocks were designed and built under the Junghans brand.
