Format: The piece is housed inside a hermetically sealed plastic protective capsule for numismatic preservation.
Common Features of this Denomination
In the Cook Islands, coins with a face value of 20 dollars typically belong to commemorative or high-end collector series. They are usually struck in high-purity silver (such as .999 silver) and frequently have a weight greater than standard, typically 3 ounces (approximately 93.3 grams).
Famous examples of this same denomination and obverse include the prestigious Masterpieces of Art numismatic collection.
What an excellent numismatic piece! You are looking at a true work of art for collectors. This coin belongs to the prestigious and acclaimed series "Masterpieces of Art". On its reverse, it pays tribute to the famous romantic painting by German artist Caspar David Friedrich, "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" (1818).
Technical Coin Features
Issuing country: Cook Islands. Year of issue: 2016. Face value: 20 dollars. Metal: .999 fine silver. Weight: 3 troy ounces (93.3 grams of pure silver). Diameter: 55 millimeters. Mint quality: Proof (mirror-like field with matte relief). Special elements: It typically includes inlays of genuine Swarovski crystals decorating the reverse and a full-color miniature reproduction of the original painting.
Because this is a commemorative issue with a very limited print run (usually fewer than 2,000 units worldwide for this series), its current market value for collectors far exceeds the value of the raw metal. Its price depends heavily on remaining in pristine condition inside its capsule, kept in its original luxury case and accompanied by its Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
