DV Milano ceiling light in Murano glass with brass fittings, grey, 36 cm diameter, 22 cm height, E27 socket, tested and working.
Description from the seller
The proposal comprises three collectible glass pieces with a twisted/spiral (swirl) design
a- A pair of elegant Mid-Century Glass/S swirl sconces
Elegant and exclusive pair of ceiling/standing lamps with a vortex decoration in gray color and a white diffuser. Vintage from the 1960s-1970s.
Also usable as bedside lamps or flanking on a wall
Equipped with an E27 socket (large fitting), tested and working electrical system
General conditions more than good Diameter 28 cm, depth 9 cm
The golden octagonal mark with the intertwined letters "DV" applied to the metal frame of the sconces is the identifying label of the historic Italian company Dini e Vasari (often abbreviated as DV Milano).
This is a prestigious Italian producer active mainly in the second half of the 20th century, famous for the production of artistic lighting elements and luxury home decor.
Materials and Workmanship: The company is renowned for combining high-quality brass and gold-plated metal frames (as visible in the photos) with decorative elements and crystal glass diffusers, often worked according to Murano techniques or hand-smoothed.
b- Hanging Murano glass chandelier, vintage coordinated. Twisted design and brass plate, cable covered with a braided sheath. Support cable adjustable from 0 to 80 cm.
Height without chain and canopy 22 cm; height with chain and canopy 80 cm; Width 36 cm; Requires an E27 bulb; Wiring checked and fully functional. White plastic ceiling canopy.
There is no identifying label present and the chandelier could be attributed to the same manufacturer as the sconces, considering the workmanship and colors.
Documentation found online or in trade magazines, however, seems to attribute the piece up for auction to Venini.
Since such attribution is not supported by solid proof, I mention it only for completeness.
The glass on the three pieces is in excellent condition, noting a small chipped speck on one of the sconces (verified during handling), and a bubble on the chandelier’s bell. All defects are visible in the final photos.
NB: another coordinated pair of sconces with a diameter of 36 cm is also available !!!!
