Description from the seller
Patria-brand typewriter.
Manufactured by AG fur Schreibmaschinen-Fabrikation, in Pieterlen, Zurich, Switzerland.
The inventor of Patria was the German engineer Otto Haas, who patented it in 1933 in Germany.
It was a model that later was sold in Europe and the United States under other names such as Amaya in Spain, Oliver in Great Britain, Japy in France, etc.
In the beginning the Patria machine was manufactured by AG fur Schreibmaschinen-Fabrikation, but years later the production was taken over by the company Hijos de August Birchmeier, in Murgenthal, Canton Aargau, also in Switzerland. From 1950 the Patria brand changed its name to Swissa.
What stands out about this portable machine is its compact size and especially its thickness, making it truly a portable typewriter.
Despite its small size, it does not forego any of the advantages of a modern typewriter.
Made of enameled cast iron in dark green, it features a keyboard formed by four rows and a double shift key. It bears the name Patria on the front. It retains the carrying case. This model is from before 1950.
It is kept in good condition and works correctly.
