Bottle - Copper - Powder flask with hunting scene

This is a pear-shaped powder flask, a functional yet decorative holder for gunpowder for muzzle-loading firearms.

The flask is made of copper, and is decorated with a relief of a hunting dog in a landscape, a common motif on hunting gear.

The elegant scroll motifs and floral motifs around the central figure reflect the Rococo- and Neoclassical styles that were common in European decorative arts.

The flask is equipped with a dosing cap that is attached with a chain, so the right amount of powder is dispensed for each shot.
