Rare hand-cut crystal liquor bottle with gold vermeil decoration on the neck and shoulder, structurally intact with an original stopper, dating from 1890–1930, attributed to Baccarat or Saint‑Louis in France, 34 cm high, interior crystal opaque.
Description from the seller
Rare container of liquor in molded crystal and 24-carat gold - Attributable to Baccarat / Saint-Louis - Early 20th Century
Object Description
Elegant and refined liquor bottle in precious heavy crystal, hand-molted, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece stands out for its very high craftsmanship quality and for the formal clean lines of the flat-ribbed design, which elongates the figure and creates light refractions on the body and neck.
The bottle is adorned with delicate 24-carat gold filigree along the neck and shoulder. The original cap, faceted in a way that recalls the shape of an apex or a flame, features rich gold decoration on the summit, preserved in excellent condition.
A notable authenticity and manufacturing consistency detail: both the cap base and the bottom of the bottle bear the pointed number 24 engraved, confirming that the two elements were born together and form the original pair.
Note on attribution: For the purity of the crystal, the flat-ribbed molting type, and the gold decor finish, the object can be traced to the historic high-end French manufacturies. Not presenting an acid-etched signature (a standard feature for pieces before 1936, which at the time carried exclusively a removable paper label), the piece is to be attributed to Baccarat or Saint-Louis.
Condition of the object:
The bottle is structurally intact and shows no chipping, nicks, or cracks.
It should be noted that the crystal is opaque on the inside. Since I do not have professional products specifically for cleaning antique crystal, and in order to preserve the absolute originality of the piece without risking damage, the object has not undergone deep internal cleaning. (Please view photos carefully)
The 24-carat gold gilding is vivid and well preserved on both body and cap, with minimal and negligible signs of superficial wear. The cap is intact and original.
