Description from the seller

Antique barometer thermometer made by Dubois & Casse, in working order.
Dubois & Casse were prominent French manufacturers of aneroid barometers in the second half of the 19th century (circa 1860-1870), known for their high-quality, early Vidie-style instruments

Vidie-style - The inventor, Lucien Vidi (1805-1866), was a French physicist who invented the aneroid barometer in 1843 and held the patent rights to his invention until 1855.
After his patent expired in 1855, Vidi's attempts to extend it were rejected. Subsequently, a number of British and French manufacturers began selling his mechanism on a large scale. There are countless examples of the Vidi barometer on the market, made by well-known French manufacturers such as Dubois & Casse.
