Description from the seller
Aphex 188A
Aphex presents the new 188, an eight-channel microphone preamplifier remotely controllable via Ethernet or MIDI, through the same devices that can control the model 1788A, namely from the 1788A-RC controller or from the software (PC or Mac) 1788A-SW or, using the optional interface model 5200, from a control surface by Avid or a Yamaha digital mixer. Aphex 188 features eight preamplifiers, each with transformer-isolated input, polarity switch, and 80 Hz selectable high-pass filter. The preamps offer 26 dB of fixed gain and 39 dB variable, for a total of 65 dB, and each input also has an attenuator of -26 dB. The channel analog outputs are available on a D-sub 25 connector, while the digital ADAT outputs are available on two TOSlink connectors, these configurable as redundant or SMUX to allow operation with sample rates up to 96 kHz. The 188's internal clock can operate at 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96 kHz and a word clock output is available. It also accepts external clock inputs operating from 44.1 to 96 kHz.
