Description from the seller
A superb example of Sony’s early high-end Hi-Fi engineering, the ST-5000F is a prestigious vintage FM stereo tuner from the late 1960s to early 1970s.
This model was one of Sony’s top-class FM stereo tuners of its era, built with a high-precision 5-gang variable capacitor and a sophisticated solid-state circuit design. It represents the period when Japanese audio manufacturers were competing at the highest international level, producing equipment that is now highly respected by collectors and serious vintage Hi-Fi enthusiasts.
The front panel has a beautifully minimalist silver design, with analog tuning scale, signal and tuning meters, muting control, mode selector, hi-blend control and large tuning knob. The red “STEREO” indicator gives the unit a classic studio-like presence when operating.
According to the provided testing information, FM reception and audio output are confirmed to work well. The switches operate properly, and no functional defects were observed during testing.
This is not a common entry-level tuner. The ST-5000F is a serious collector-grade Sony component from the golden age of Japanese analog audio.
