Vanessa Mitrani - Vase - SCOTT - Glass, Bronze

This piece is a 2006 model by designer Vanessa Mitrani. There are very few copies of it.
It is emblematic of her work on the constraint of glass, blown inside a metal structure, and carried by a blend of materials.
Here, the roundness and fragility of the glass form a contrast with the enclosing structure.
The model's name, Scott, comes from the particularly elaborate bronze structure, which is inspired by Scottish tartan, playing with a weave of metals of different textures and thicknesses.
The glass is mouth-blown inside the bronze structure, from which it jets forth and from which its form is born.

Vanessa Mitrani is distributed worldwide by prestigious outlets such as Roche Bobois, Lane Crawford, Bergdorf Goodman or Cassina.
Some of her creations are part of the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
The pieces are made in close collaboration with artisans, and are assembled in her workshop in Pantin, near Paris where she designs all her collections.
