Dogon statuette from the Dourou region.
It is a representation of an old naked man.
He is kneeling on a semicircular support.
He is bearded and holds his head with both hands.
Perhaps he is praying and invoking Amma, the Dogon god.
His abdomen is decorated with scarifications.
The wood is heavy and well patinated; it is worn at the elbows and feet.
