Chair (6) - Wood, Leather

Set of six chairs in solid carved wood, neo-Renaissance / neo-Gothic inspired, probably French or from Southern Europe, dating to the first half of the 20th century. Tall, cut-back backs richly decorated with vegetal motifs and scrolls in relief, accompanied by seats also ornamented with carved work and framed. A robust frame rests on turned legs linked by stretchers, with the front openwork decoration of strong architectural character standing out. The chairs feature decorative metal fittings in gilded brass and top finials shaped as pinnacles, reinforcing the historicist taste and the monumental character of the set. Wood in a dark brown tone with handsome natural veneer and a waxed/patinated finish. Pieces of great decorative impact, suitable for a dining room, library, or a Castel-inspired and revivalist setting.
