Walking stick - .800 silver

A German 800 silver-mounted walking cane, early 20th century

The handle capped with a finely modelled boar’s head in 800 standard silver, stamped 800 with crown hallmark, with naturalistic detailing, in the animalier hunting taste characteristic of the period, the curved wooden handle continuing to a slender shaft with visible natural grain, knots and age-related wear consistent with use, fitted with a later replacement ferrule. Length 92 cm.

Condition appears good overall, with light age-related wear consistent with use. The wooden shaft shows minor surface wear and natural imperfections to the grain, the silver mount with an attractive patina, and the ferrule with expected wear from use.
