Description from the seller
A silent witness to academic history—powerful, dignified, and full of symbolism.
This extraordinary heraldic paperweight, carved from marble stone and dated June 1, 1925, transports the viewer into the traditional world of early 20th-century student fraternities. An object that is far more than a utilitarian item — it is a fragment of lived history.
The heavily worked stone, marbled in warm shades of rose and green, conveys solidity and weight — almost as a symbol of the values it once represented: honor, belonging, and memory.
In the center, a finely worked coat of arms with a monogram sits within a sculptural, artistically modeled cartouche. The design testifies to high craftsmanship and points to the heraldic tradition of student corporations. Every detail seems deliberately placed — nothing is accidental.
Below, a simple but compelling dedication:
"1. Juni 1925" — a date that raises questions and hints at stories. Was it a graduation? An admission? A significant moment in the life of a young scholar?
Such pieces were usually created individually — as personal mementos, crafted by local artisans in the vicinity of major university towns. This gives each specimen a unique, non-reproducible identity.
Regarding condition: The object is authentic & original! Stone object in excellent condition (see photos)!
Applikationen complete & dirty—must be polished!
