These pieces are made by Afghan-origin knotters, who reproduce in their designs the patterns of the most important examples of Caucasian production from past centuries. The main element that characterizes them consists of the materials used for the knotting. They are made of Ghazny wool spun and artisanally dyed following traditional methods and using dyes of natural origin. This gives the finished rug a distinctive patina and an uneven coloration that becomes an additional and fundamental decorative element. The vivid border motifs are especially splendid.
