A Bleikristall glass vase with Kugelschliff, mounted in 925 sterling silver with Hermann Bauer heraldic HB mark, about 26 cm high with a 6 cm opening and 6 cm base, weighing around 1 kg, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Unique find, a lead crystal glass vase in Kugel-cut facets with a silver mount, 925 Sterling, stamped 925 Sterling HB with coat of arms (Hermann Bauer).
Approximately 80 faceted spheres incorporated.
Height approx. 26 cm, base diameter approx. 6 cm, upper opening approx. 6 cm
Weight: approx. 1000 g.
Condition: Excellent, without chips, minor scratches and soiling (see pictures).
Hermann Bauer was born in 1833 in Heilbronn, Germany.
In 1863 he founded his own silversmith workshop in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
Early in his career as a silversmith, he became famous especially for his Renaissance jewelry, which was even worn by Queen Olga of Württemberg and soon earned him the nickname “Renaissance Bauer.”
To this day the company is in operation and has earned an international reputation in Swabian silversmithing for craftsmanship.
They still stand for quality with a long tradition and artisanal jewelry-making from high-quality silver and timeless design.
