Description from the seller
The snuff bottle with a defined style is in perfect condition, measuring approximately 5x4x2 cm and weighing 20 grams. The stopper with a natural cork base and pressure fit is another clear confirmation of the piece's authenticity. This system was the technical standard in fine perfumery in the 1920s and 1930s before the popularity of plastic screw caps or hermetically sealed frosted glass. The natural cork was used because it allowed a firm and expandable seal inside the porcelain mouth. It is a high-quality piece, of German or Austrian origin from the 1920s or 1930s.
During the Art Deco period, prestigious porcelain manufacturers (such as Rosenthal or Hutschenreuther) collaborated with renowned silversmiths to create these luxury flasks. The porcelain protected the perfume from light, and the metal exterior gave it the avant-garde geometric design of the era.
It has no mark identifying the quality of the material, but in my view it is silver; I did an acid test and it tested positive; in many silver pieces from this era they did not carry a mark. OK, it is only shipped within the European Union by DHL Deutsche Post.
