AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A charming 19th-century Chinese export porcelain plate, beautifully decorated in the classic "Mandarin" palette (Famille Rose), dating from the Qing Dynasty.

The central medallion depicts a lively and detailed palace court scene, featuring several noble figures and attendants in traditional robes within an open pavilion, framed by architectural elements and a natural landscape. The wide border is richly enameled with a continuous and vibrant pattern of butterflies, exotic birds, flowers, and foliage interspersed with traditional Chinese key-fret motifs, highly characteristic of Canton ware from this period.

The reverse features a very pale celadon-tinted glaze with an unglazed foot rim showing the characteristic paste of the era. A beautiful collector's piece for Asian art enthusiasts.

Material: Chinese Export Porcelain

Period: 19th Century (Qing Dynasty)

Style: Mandarin / Famille Rose (Canton)

Dimension: 21x3.0cm

Condition: In good overall condition considering its age. Minor natural wear to the enamels and the gilt rim due to time and use. Small firing imperfections/pitting on the reverse, which is typical for porcelain of this period and authenticates its age. No visible restorations.
