Set of 12 water glasses, made in Italy. Colorless lead crystal glass, thick, mouth-blown, ground, cut. This piece rests on an octagonal base: instead of a standard round base, a thick, heavy, faceted geometric base. Baluster-style stem with a stepped structural ring (or knop), which gives the glass a good grip, truncated conical dome with a vertical octagonal flat cut with the lower cross-cut diamond that creates a prism effect, catching the light with broad movements. Unknown producer. Condition: Discontinued. Approx. 1960. Probably produced by the historic glassware MARIOCIONI. Mario Cioni, began in 1958 in Tuscany and takes the name from the founder of the company; he is known for lines inspired by the classical canons of high art glass.
