Solid oak low table dating from the 1960s–1970s, with a round top supported by four separate freestanding oak supports, in a vintage style.
Description from the seller
Solid Oak Low Table with 4 separate solid oak supports, 1960s–70s
A warm and beautifully low table in solid oak, dating from the 1960s or 1970s. The piece has a wonderfully honest construction: a large round oak top resting on four separate solid oak supports, rather than on fixed attached legs. This gives the table a calm, architectural presence.
The design is simple, but not plain. The round top brings softness, while the four freestanding supports give the piece a grounded stance and rhythm. Because the legs are not permanently attached to the top, the table can easily be adjusted in direction of the woograin opposed to that of the tablelegs. All about finding the perfect balance.
The oak has a rich, natural warmth and a beautiful grain, making the table very easy to place in an interior. It would work well as a low coffee table, display table or central accent piece in a living room, gallery-like space or relaxed modernist setting. It adds warmth without becoming heavy, and has that pleasing 1960s–70s honesty where the material is allowed to do most of the talking.
An interesting detail is that the top may originally have belonged to another table, as there are old round dowel holes visible underneath, suggesting that other legs may once have been fitted. The oak, however, matches the supports very well in tone and character, and together they form a convincing and attractive whole. The table stands stable and functions well as it is.

Good vintage condition with small signs of age and use.
