Rare Complete Porcelain and Gold Desk Set - Late 19th Century - Monogrammed Seal "P.A."
Object Specification
Type: Complete desk set (inkstand).
Period: Late 19th century (c. 1880–1900).
Style: Neo-Rococo / Second Empire (Napoleon III).
Materials: Finest porcelain, burnished gold decorations, metal (brass/ gilt bronze).
Manufacture: High-quality European manufacture (presumably Limoges area or German area), characterized by the base mark of a golden crescent on the base.
Components of the Set:
Central Body: Shaped porcelain base with garland of roses and pink/gold honeycomb motif.
Inkwells: Two compartments with hinged covers in gilded metal, complete with the two original white ceramic inner cups.
Main Seal: Coordinated porcelain handle, metal base finely hand-engraved with monogram "P.A." in intertwined cursive.
Pen (Nib Holder): Original metal rod with nib holder tip (nib included).
Brunitoio/Lisciatoio: Rare accessory with pastel blue handle and a domed porcelain base, used for preparing paper.
Condition:
