Pentax 28mm f/3.5 wide‑angle lens with K‑mount, physically in very good condition and tested as working, dating from 1970–1980, supplied with its original Asahi Pentax front cap.
Description from the seller
For sale: a vintage Asahi SMC Pentax-M 28mm f/3.5 wide-angle lens with a Pentax K-mount, accompanied by its original Asahi Pentax front cap. This lens stands out for its exceptionally compact size and light weight, typical of Pentax’s M series designed in the late seventies to reduce bulk in the photographic kit without compromising on quality. The 28mm focal length provides a wide field of view, ideal for landscape, architecture, street photography, and travel reportage. The maximum aperture of f/3.5 ensures excellent sharpness even at full opening and superb color rendering, thanks to Pentax’s famous multicoated SMC (Super Multi Coated) coating, which minimizes internal reflections and the effects of ghosting and flare even in difficult lighting or backlit conditions. The lens barrel is entirely metal, giving a strong, precise, robust feel. The focus ring moves smoothly and precisely, allowing accurate adjustments, while the aperture ring offers clear, defined clicks from f/3.5 to f/22. The specimen shown in the photo appears to be in generally excellent cosmetic condition, with the distance scale in meters and feet clearly legible. An essential piece for brand collectors and for anyone who wants to use vintage optics on analog bodies or on modern mirrorless cameras.
