Olympus XA-2 35mm compact camera, produced in Japan in the early 1980s, with very good physical condition and tested and functioning, featuring a gold JMDc Passed sticker.
Description from the seller
For sale, a famous and iconic 35mm analog compact camera, the Olympus XA2, produced in Japan starting from the early eighties. This model, evolution of the renowned Olympus XA and designed by the brilliant Yoshihisa Maitani, has gone down in the history of photography for its revolutionary shell-like design with an integrated sliding door that protects the lens and acts as a power switch, eliminating the need for a separate lens-cap.
The camera is equipped with a very sharp fixed lens, the Olympus D-Zuiko 35mm f/3.5, composed of four elements in four groups, capable of delivering high-contrast images rich in detail. The focusing system is zone-based, operable quickly via three icons on the front of the body (close-up, group, landscape), making it one of the absolute favorites for street photography and everyday use due to its extreme shooting speed.
Exposure management is fully automatic, with an internal electronic light meter that independently regulates shutter speed and aperture based on the film sensitivity selected via the dedicated ASA-value dial, ranging from 25 to 800. On the matte black, incredibly pocketable body, the gold “jmdc passed” sticker stands out, certifying its era-quality control.
The example in the photo presents excellent cosmetic condition, with sharp and well-preserved inscriptions.
