Description from the seller
Introduced in the mid-1960s by the legendary German manufacturer Voigtländer, the Vitoret DR is a beautifully integrated 35mm compact viewfinder camera. Standing out within the popular Vitoret family, the DR model features a built-in uncoupled selenium light meter paired alongside an integrated coupled rangefinder mechanism. This combination allowed amateur photographers of the era to accurately judge both distance and lighting conditions without carrying external accessories. Celebrated for its bright, expansive bright-line viewfinder window and distinctive bottom-mounted film advance lever, the Vitoret DR remains a highly tactile testament to classic West German consumer engineering and mid-century modern design.
KEY FEATURES
Integrated coupled rangefinder mechanism for accurate manual focusing
Built-in selenium light meter with a top-plate readout window
Expansive bright-line viewfinder configuration for effortless framing
Ergonomic bottom-mounted rapid film advance lever design
Robust West German chassis construction dressed in classic textured cladding

Serial Number: Stamped on the lower base housing rim: 622385
CONDITION REPORT
Cosmetic: Very good cosmetic condition with minor signs of prior handling. The chrome plates and black leatherette finish are clean and free from deep gouges, exhibiting only light superficial scuffs. The passive cold shoe assembly on top is structurally intact.
Optics: The Color-Lanthar 50mm lens is clear with only a normal amount of internal micro-dust, free from major scratching. The rangefinder viewfinder window is clear, and the secondary patch is visible for alignment.
Mechanics: The bottom wind lever advances smoothly, and the shutter trips crisp across the various manual speed settings. The uncoupled light meter needle responds to varying intensities of direct light, though accuracy has not been verified against a modern digital meter.
Test status: This camera is being sold as a vintage collector's item and has not been tested with film for absolute light-tightness or shutter speed calibration.
