Beautiful Akan or Fanti statuette from Ghana. The face is moving and expressive. It looks at us with love, strength and compassion. The sculptor managed to convey an emotion to us. The whole piece is well balanced, harmonious. The stance is unusual, the legs bent, the arms hanging and the back rounded. One can almost perceive a simian position. A rare work.
