A stunning and elegant example of Italian Space Age lighting from the 1970s, featuring the iconic mushroom design (Mushroom lamp). This lamp, with clean and essential lines, fits perfectly both in modernist interiors and in high-end mid-century collections alongside contemporaries from Harvey Guzzini, Mazzega, or VeArt.
Main features and construction details:
Diffuser: Made from premium glossy white opaline glass, hand-blown, with a refined smoked facets. The double-shell shape provides incredibly soft, warm, glare-free light diffusion, highlighting the purity of the glass when the lamp is on.
Base: Flared cylindrical base in mirror-finished chromed steel, a classic material contrast characteristic of Space Age design.
Internal engineering: Inside the base is a refined perforated metal crown, originally designed at the time for thermal dissipation and optimal ventilation. The glass lampshade is securely fastened by the original mechanical system with 3 knurled perimeter screws.
Electrical components: Original period wiring in perfect working order, complete with the contemporaneous inline slider switch and large screw-in socket (1x E27). Note that the terminal plug has been replaced over time with a modern one for safety and functionality. At the bottom of the base you can see the traces of the four original felt pads.
Condition of the item:
Excellent vintage condition, structurally and cosmetically sound. The glass diffuser is entirely intact: no chips, no cracks, no flaws. The chrome plating is bright, shiny, and clean, with minimal, imperceptible signs of age that attest to its authenticity and complete originality.
