Exceptional lot of 4 original Art Nouveau wallpaper sheets from a very old professional catalog of Maison Guillot in Paris, dating from 1902.
These sheets are genuine period decorative remnants, drawn from a catalog that is today extremely rare and practically unavailable in this early edition. The original catalog being very damaged, only a few plates have been preserved in a remarkable state of conservation.
The motifs feature superb floral and ornamental compositions typical of French Art Nouveau from the early 20th century, with deep red colours and particularly shimmering and luminous gold highlights. The nuances remain brilliant despite more than 120 years having passed.
