A vintage Edwardian–Georgian V silver cigarette case and business card holder, handcrafted in solid sterling silver 925 in Birmingham in 1913, with an ultra-slim, slightly convex profile, full guilloché geometrical engraving framed by floral reliefs, a plain front escutcheon ready for personalization, a vermeil interior, a solid spring hinge and snap closure, four clear British hallmarks (H.W.L, Lion Passant, Anchor, date letter “o”), 9.83 x 6.95 x 0.83 cm, and approximately 74–75 g in excellent antique condition with a natural patina.

In this listing: a magnificent and extremely elegant Edwardian / George V era cigarette case, ideal today also as an exclusive and refined business card holder or credit card holder. The piece was entirely made in solid Sterling 925 silver in 1913 in Birmingham, one of the historic centers of excellence of British silverware.
The item stands out for its ultra-slim, slightly convex profile, designed to glide with absolute elegance into a jacket pocket. The exterior surface is entirely adorned with a dense and flawless geometric guilloché engraving, framed along the edges by splendid floral scrolls and high-precision raised decorations. On the front there is a smooth shield, never engraved (no monograms), perfect for possible personalization.
Technical Details and Valuables:
Internal Vermeil: Opening the case reveals a wonderful, brilliant fire-gilding (vermeil) original, exceptionally vivid and beautifully preserved, conceived to protect the silver from oxidation.
Functionality: The hinge is solid and the sliding action is impeccable. The snap closure is perfectly firm and precise. Inside is the original elastic/strap to secure the contents.
Hallmarks: The item bears a complete, contemporary, and perfectly legible set of four official British crown hallmarks:
1 The master silversmith mark "H.W.L" (identifiable with the renowned and esteemed Henry Williamson Ltd, active in Birmingham and London).
2 The Walking Lion (Lion Passant), officially guaranteeing the Sterling 925/1000 silver fineness.
3 The Anchor, official symbol of the Birmingham Assay Office.
4 The date letter "o" in antique style, fixing the exact year of production to 1913.
