Head of a Syro-Hittite figurine with bead-like eyes
Stylized ceramic figurine head on a base.
The head is pinched and resembles a bird's head, with bead-like eyes and a prominent, oversized nose.
Anatolia, Mesopotamia, 3rd to 2nd millennium BC.
Orange ceramic - Very good condition.
Dimensions: height 3.8 cm (6.2 cm with the base)
Provenance: Germany, Galerie E.P.L.
pPreviously: English private collection, acquired subsequently in 2017 from the auction house Gerhard Hirsch Nachfolger, Munich, lot 330/1246.
