Pair of solid silver dusting/serving scoops from the late 19th to early 20th century (Art Nouveau Period & Louis XV Style)
Origin: France
Material: Solid silver (Minerva Head First Title - .950) to be verified
Description of the lot:
Set of two serving scoops (strawberry or dusting scoops) featuring remarkable silversmithing work.
1. Art Nouveau Model (Left):
• Bowl: Circular, adorned with a decorative repertoire of organic style. Superb piercing work radiating with motifs of flames or stylized foliage.
• Handle: Guilloché pattern of waves on the scoop, offering a textured and elegant grip.
2. Shell & Fillets Model (Right):
• Bowl: Shell-shaped, richly pierced with clover and floral stem motifs. Fine chasing work along the fluted edges.
• Handle: Beaded and violin-shaped contour, typical of classic French elegance.
Condition:
• Very good overall condition.
• Presence of the maker’s marks (Minerva) and hallmarks in diamond-shaped punches (to be identified precisely).
• Slight signs of normal use for the period, beautiful original patina.
