Description from the seller

This very pretty piece is an artisanal pottery originating from North Africa, more precisely Safi in Morocco.

It is glazed ceramics (often called majolica or Moroccan fayence).

The dominant color: this very bright and warm ochre/mustard yellow is particularly characteristic of Safi productions, a Moroccan coastal town famous for its potter’s hill.

The decoration: Black brushwork (lines and dotted motifs), enhanced with touches of green and dark brown (eggplant), is typical of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. The geometric and stylized floral motifs are directly inspired by Arab-Andalusian art.

The irregularity of the rim and the small imperfections in the glaze confirm that this is a completely handmade piece, not an industrial production.

Large vase, 37 cm high and 23 cm in its widest diameter, weighing 3 kg. In good condition. See the photos, they are an integral part of the description.
