CHINA. 20 Fen. 1938.
- Value: 20 Fen.
- Year: 1938 (27th year of the Republic).
- Inscriptions: Obverse: left-facing bust of Sun Yat-sen, surrounded by legend in Chinese characters indicating the Republic of China and the year of issue. Reverse: central character 布 with value marks 20 Cents, flanked by Chinese characters, all within a geometric greca-type border.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Nickel alloy coin belonging to the late-1930s Chinese republican series. The obverse features a realist, sober portrait of Sun Yat-sen, with good facial modeling and firm relief, characteristic of the political iconography of the Republican period. The reverse shows a geometrical design with strong symbolic character, with the value expressed by traditional characters and a well-defined decorative border. This specimen shows notable original mint luster, clean fields, and uniform light patina, with minor surface marks appropriate to the grade, offering a balanced and attractive visual presence.
