Description from the seller
Antique Victorian Golden Oak Umbrella & Stick Stand c.1900 – Original Drip Pan, a handsome and highly functional piece of British heritage: an authentic Late Victorian to Edwardian Solid Oak Umbrella and Walking Stick Stand, dating to circa 1890–1910. Perfect for adding immediate period charm to a cottage porch, a traditional hallway, or a boot room. Expertly constructed from nicely grained, dense English oak, the stand features an attractive two-division upper frame topped with classic turned corner finials and rope patterned front decor, typical of the clean design movement of the late 19th century. The base houses its original removeable drip tray designed to catch rainwater from wet umbrellas, the tray remains completely intact and functional, adding great historical authenticity to the piece.
Very good antique condition. The oak has a rich, warm, glowing patina with beautiful natural grain reflection. The joints are completely solid, rigid, and free of wobble. The pan shows only the superficial oxidation expected of an item that has spent over a century in service, with no structural cracks.
