Description from the seller
The Mamiya RB67 is one of the most iconic and respected medium format cameras in the history of professional photography. Produced by the Japanese company Mamiya starting in the 1970s, it became famous for its extraordinary image quality, extremely robust build, and the highly versatile modular system. The name “RB” stands for “Rotating Back,” in reference to the famous rotating back that allows a quick switch from landscape to portrait format without having to rotate the entire camera.
The RB67 uses 120 or 220 medium format film and produces large negatives, capable of delivering a level of detail, tonal depth, and photographic quality far superior to classic 35mm. The body is large, heavy, and very imposing, a feature that makes it instantly recognizable and especially beloved in professional photographic studios.
The viewfinder, as can be seen in the photos, has missing parts. the shutter is absent.
Completely mechanical in its main versions, the Mamiya RB67 requires a slow and precise approach to photography. Every phase of the shot, from focusing to triggering the shutter, takes place manually, offering a very technical and engaging photographic experience. The integrated bellows also allow for extremely accurate focusing, very useful for portrait, still life, and macro photography.
