Wilesco D21 steam engine in vintage industrial design, made of brass and steel with a gilded brass boiler, circa 1990, in excellent condition with original packaging and included accessories, not tested and with a flywheel that does not rotate freely.
Description from the seller
We offer you a nearly unused Wilesco steam engine, D21.
This engine largely corresponds to the specifications of the D20, but has some extra features. What stands out is the special color that gives this engine a distinctive finish. All metal parts are painted black and red, and the copper parts are polished.
In addition, the water pump can be refilled while the engine is running. The condensate is discharged into the condensate tank beneath the chimney, so the chimney starts to steam. The steam outlet can be operated via a steam valve.
The boiler is high-gloss polished and gilded, and measures 6.5 x 16.5 cm with a capacity of 500 cm³. This means that the D21 has ample power to operate several accessories at the same time. The brass boiler also provides a water level indicator designed as a view glass.
The boiler house is designed with a brick pattern, and a catwalk leads to the side of the boiler house on each side. The double-acting, fixed brass cylinder of this model steam engine is equipped with a flywheel that can be operated in both directions. The steam pressure can be continuously monitored via the manometer. With the drain cock, residual water can be removed from the boiler. As an accessory there is a slide. The engine is delivered in the original (somewhat battered) packaging.
Included with the engine:
• Esbit blocks, drive spring, rings, slider,
container for drained water, funnel, key
Operating instructions, original packaging.
Note: The steam engine has not been tested.
However, we can establish that the flywheel cannot be rotated completely. It encounters resistance halfway around. We have no experience with steam engines and cannot offer a solution for this. Please take this into account when purchasing. We expect the experienced user will know what to do with this barely used engine.
- The photos are part of the description.
- The items will be shipped professionally and undamaged.
- When picking up (in Purmerend, NL) you sign a receipt.
