AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant XL oval mirror in carved and gilded wood.
It features a beautiful molded frame characterized by a smooth and domed external band, with a continuous profile, which gives depth and solidity to the structure.
An internal molding with small serial motifs carved, almost a succession of dashes or stylized bead-like mouldings, a regular sequence of small oval elements or “grain” shapes, carved and slightly sunk, arranged in a theoretically continuous line along the inner edge used to create luminous movement around the mirror.
Four ornamental elements applied at the cardinal points, made of grooved foliate motifs reminiscent of palmettes or stylized lanceolate leaves, four large central domed friezes arranged in a rhythmic sequence.
Next, a beautiful smooth intermediate molding, made from a slightly convex band without decorations that creates a visual pause and enhances the ornamental bands.

Also the backwork is interesting; it preserves the original wooden structure with traditional interlocking joints visible, traces of manual assembly indicating traditional artisanal construction, compatible with an eighteenth/nineteenth-century manufactory.

The refined leaf-gilding on plaster and bole preparation, with a warm antique patina and pleasant wear consistent with the period, giving it an elegant character that is not overly bright.

Mirror plate replaced at a later date.

With its harmonious profile, this mirror exudes extreme elegance and is meticulous in its details. The large multi-level domed profile makes it striking and full of charm.
An "architect of space" that elevates the environment with elegance and poetry.
