Mid-Century Modern Italian-style bar cart from the 1950s, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains; two levels, 100 cm wide, 70 cm high and 46 cm deep, made of wood and metal.
Description from the seller
A refined and elegant example of an Italian service bar cart, dating from the 1950s, a golden era for Mid-Century Modern interior design.
The sleek design and flowing lines clearly echo the hand and style of the great Italian designers of curved wood of the era, such as Cesare Lacca, or the productions of high artisanal craftsmanship.
The cart features two levels:
Two large rectangular display shelves with slightly raised edges, ideal for carrying and presenting bottles, crystalware, and cocktail sets.
An integrated side rack for magazines/bottles, characterized by a splendid grille of steam-bent wood slats, an uncommon element that also serves as a striking sculptural grip.
The supports and curved handles terminate in a dynamic "eagle beak" or scroll motif, a detail of exquisite retro elegance.
The four swivel wheels are original to the era, made of gilded metal/brass and rubber, perfectly integrated into the frame and functional, but not in good condition due to rust and subsequent repainting. They require cleaning and/or restoration.
It is a versatile, functional, and sophisticated piece of furniture, perfect for adding an authentic vintage 1950s style to living rooms, studies, or modern bar corners.
