Murano glass flower with a silk stem – length 40 cm

This flower is made entirely by hand in Murano using the traditional lampworking technique.
The master glassmaker uses a colored glass cane, brought to the softening temperature by the flame of a gas-fed torch. The glass, once malleable, is shaped and wound around a thin metal support, allowing the desired form to be obtained.
The lampworking technique enables the creation of extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals and small decorative elements.
In the case of flowers, once the bloom and leaves are finished, the piece is hand-inserted onto a silk-covered stem and reinforced with wire, so it can be used for arrangements, decorations and displays.
