Description from the seller

Splendid and rare antique oval spring dynamometer (also known as pocket stadera or crescent balance),
produced by the renowned German manufacturing house KRUPS and accurately datable to around 1890.
This precision instrument from the late 19th century features an ingenious dual-scale structure in kilograms (KIL.):
• Front side: scale for light weights (0 to 14 kg) with the iconic original KRUPS punch clearly legible on the dial.
• Back side: scale for heavy loads (10 to 75 kg).
The item presents in excellent historical condition, completely original and contemporaneous in every part: the indicator needle, forged suspension hooks and the upper rings are period pieces.
The iron body and brass dial preserve a beautiful and authentic patina from the era, which gives the piece a unique vintage industrial charm, highly sought after by collectors of measuring instruments and antique scientific objects. It has not undergone invasive restorations, preserving its history intact.
A piece of the history of German domestic and industrial technology, ideal both as a collectible object and as a sought-after decorative element for rustic, industrial, or steampunk interiors.
• Era: circa 1890
• Manufacturer: Krups (Solingen, Germany)
• Materials: Forged iron and brass
• Conditions: Excellent vintage conditions, with the original patina of the time.
