Description from the seller
This lot is composed from two handblown bottles from the late 18th century to early-mid 19th century created in Central Europe region. By adding selenium and iron in the composition of material, resulted in a greenish or yellowish gray appearance often seen at antique glass from 1800s. The pieces present impressive features like iridescent patina, striations on the surface of glass and irregularities like air bubbles typical from old traditional glass blowing procedures. These types of bottles were destined for alcoholic beverages like schnapps. The detailed photos are part of the description and can be used as an accurate reference.
1. Large Bottle - In excellent condition, presenting iridescencent patina on the inside. A snaped pontil mark is clearly visible under its rectangular base. This bottle could date from late 18th century, judging by the consistent use marks under its bottom.
Dimensions: Height - 21cm, Base diameter - 10.5cm, Weight - 410g.
2. Smaller Bottle - In excellent condition, presenting iridescent patina and impressive striation formations from creation process. Handblown with very thick walls. A polished pontil mark was left under its rectangular base.
Dimensions: Height - 19cm, Diameter - 9.5cm, Weight - 473g.
