Saint-Louis France Crystal Etched Ewer/Pitcher
A magnificent footed crystal ewer by Saint-Louis, France — one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious crystal manufactories, founded in 1586. This elegant piece features a classical amphora-inspired form with a gracefully flared spout, angular applied handle, and a pedestal base with a ball knop stem. The ovoid body is richly adorned with intricate wheel-engraved decoration depicting scrolling foliage, floral sprays, and foliate cartouches encircling the entire vessel — a hallmark of Saint-Louis’s virtuoso engraving tradition. The crystal itself is of exceptional clarity and weight, characteristic of the finest French lead crystal. The piece retains its original gold foil Saint-Louis France label affixed to the underside of the base, confirming authenticity. Condition is very good with no chips or cracks noted.
