Description from the seller
Item Description
The Technics SL-1900 is a vintage two-speed, direct-drive turntable introduced by Technics (Matsushita / Panasonic) in 1977. As a fully automatic single-play deck, it offers convenient automatic set-down, lift-off and stop of the tonearm, along with a "Memo-Repeat" function allowing up to six repeated plays or continuous play. At its heart is a direct-drive motor governed by a one-chip IC incorporating 321 elements, delivering highly accurate and stable rotation with no belts or idler wheels to wear out. The deck runs at 33 and 45 rpm, features a 310 mm aluminium die-cast platter, a static-balanced universal tonearm, and a heavy monolithic base with an isolator system to suppress external vibration. Finished in the classic black slim-line styling of the late 1970s, the SL-1900 is a beloved entry point into Technics' legendary direct-drive lineage and a genuine piece of Japanese hi-fi history that rewards both collectors and vinyl enthusiasts. This unit has been tested using a substitute cartridge and confirmed to play records correctly. Please note that a cartridge is not included; the buyer will need to fit their own.
