Description from the seller

Walking cane with a hooked (curved) handle for urban men's walking, made from superb natural Malacca cane. Origin: Birmingham / London, United Kingdom. The silver was stamped in Birmingham, but Jonathan Howell had his renowned headquarters and main laboratories in London (Old Street). Each hallmark on the silver reads: 'J·H' inside a shield corresponds to Jonathan Howell (specifically the firm Jonathan Howell & Co). Howell was one of the most celebrated, important, and refined manufacturers of luxury walking sticks and umbrellas in the entire Victorian and Edwardian era in London. His canes were renowned for the very high quality of the imported shafts and for impeccable silver and gold finishes. The Anchor is the official symbol of the city of Birmingham (England). This means that the silver was tested and guaranteed for purity at the Birmingham Assay Office. The Walking Lion that strides to the left ('Lion Passant') is the historic British mark that guarantees it is Sterling Silver (fineness 925/1000), the highest standard of English silver purity.
