Description from the seller

"The Lone Palm, Bermuda" (Bridge format).
Rare parlor card game dating from the late 19th – early 20th century, preserved in its original box, with gilt edges and a French fiscal stamp of the period.
Manufacturer: United States Playing Card Company, Cincinnati, USA
Export and sale: France (French fiscal stamp “République Française — Décret du 12 avril 1880”).
Production period: Around 1880.
Game features:
Model: Congress No.606, Bridge size.
Card back: artistic landscape “The Lone Palm, Bermuda”.
Complete deck: From Ace to Joker, all suits present.
Gold trimming on the four card edges (gilt edges).
Old court design figures dating from the late 19th century.
Original embossed box “Congress Playing Cards 606”.
French fiscal stamp of the era — indicator of an authentic export-ready specimen.
Dimensions:
Cards: 5.7 cm × 8.9 cm (narrow Bridge size).
Box: 13.7 cm × 9.5 cm.
Historical context:
The Congress series was considered a luxury line for elegant salons: artistic backs, refined finish, and gilded edges. These games were designed for an affluent clientele and were often exported to Europe.
The combination of the original box, the complete deck, the gilded edges, and the French fiscal stamp makes this specimen a rare piece, especially in remarkable condition after more than 120 years.
Although the original box indicates 2 decks, only one deck was unfortunately preserved. The box also shows visible signs of wear; please examine all photographs carefully.
Condition: Good antique condition with natural signs of time: the gilding is slightly worn in places, which is normal for its age and confirms its authenticity.
For collectors: Magnificent early Congress deck from the late 19th century: authentic, complete, and rich in period features as well as export history.
