Alanqa saharica, Pterosaur specimen from the Cretaceous period (approximately 6.9 cm), natural condition with one filled crack, authenticity Original restaurado.
Description from the seller
Scientific Name:
Alanqa saharica
Location:
Kem Kem Valley, Morocco
Stage:
Late Cretaceous
Size:
Approximately 6.9 cm
Fossil Description:
Fragment of beak/jaw of Alanqa saharica, an azhdarchid pterosaur from the African Cretaceous. This is an extremely rare dental piece, especially in juvenile specimens, where jaw preservation is exceptionally uncommon.
This fragment stands out for its sharp and straight morphology, typical of azhdarchid-type pterosaurs, and for its natural state, without alterations that would compromise its authenticity.
Alanqa cranial remains are among the scarce fossils in the Kem Kem Valley, and pieces like this —well preserved, complete in form and with clear anatomical presence— are considered top, practically unique on the market.
